Fancy being a real-time defective, checking out alerts and phishing emails coming your way to see if they’re false or not a Security Operations Center (SOC) sounds like it could be the role for you.
Rather passively hunting for information and new threats Threat Management sounds like the job for you.
If you have a curious nature, like to fiddle and break things, Penetration Testing (aka Cyber security Assessments) could be the direction you choose to go down. It’s one to be careful with, you must explicitly have the businesses authorisation as you could cause lots of damage.
If you are looking for a less techy role, you could focus on policymaking, legal compliance, enforcement, and management. You could go into Governance, Risk management, and Compliance (GRC) or Security Assurance. This can mean acting as a liaison between business managers and the techys.
